Melanie Jansen is a Registered Psychologist, Play Therapist, and an Associate Member with the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Her post-tertiary studies, clinical practice and passion have been focused on working with children, adolescents and their care givers, including completion of the Advanced Clinical Training in Play Therapy with Play Therapy Australia. Melanie is a registered Medicare Provider, and a registered provider for Better Start which tailors funded services to eligible children with disabilities.
Melanie works solely in her private practice based in Wembley. She specializes in providing Child Centred Play Therapy to children, Filial Therapy to caregivers, and working therapeutically with older children, adolescents and parents to support them through other client-focused modalities. Melanie is also experienced in working within the non-for-profit sector, assisting children and adolescents in care who have been exposed to trauma, abuse or neglect, and assisting caregivers to understand and meet their child’s unique needs.
Melanie is a Board Approved Supervisor with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She provides clinical supervision for Provisional Psychologists undertaking the 4+2 or 5+1 Internship Program. Melanie also provides supervision to support training Play Therapists in their clinical work and within the Australian Play Therapists Association’s (APTA) requirements for supervision towards registration as a Play Therapist.
